IBM Power11

Also known as: Power 11, IBM Power11 Systems

IBM's current generation Power Systems hardware, introduced in 2024. Power11 delivers improved per-core performance, AI acceleration, and energy efficiency over Power10.

IBM Power11 is the current generation of IBM Power Systems hardware, announced and shipped in 2024. Power11 processors are manufactured on a 7nm+ process and deliver approximately 10 to 20 percent improvement in per-core throughput for IBM i workloads compared to Power10. Key advancements in Power11 include an enhanced Matrix Math Accelerator (MMA) for AI inferencing workloads, Transparent Computing Fabric (TCF) for low-latency scale-out clustering, hardware-enforced memory protection features, and approximately 30 percent improvement in performance-per-watt efficiency. IBM Power11 models include the scale-out S1122 and S1124 for small to mid-size deployments, the large-scale L1122 and L1124, and the flagship enterprise E1150 and E1180 for the most demanding workloads. All Power11 models support IBM i, AIX, and Linux workloads, and can run multiple operating systems simultaneously using logical partitioning (LPAR). IBM Power11 is the recommended hardware platform for new IBM i deployments and AS400 upgrade projects.
