IBM Power 10

Also known as: Power 10

IBM's previous generation Power Systems hardware, introduced in 2021. Power10 introduced the Matrix Math Accelerator (MMA) for AI workloads and enhanced memory bandwidth.

Power10 is IBM's processor generation announced in 2020 and shipped from 2021, succeeded by Power11 in July 2025. Built on a 7nm process, it delivered significant improvements over Power9:

  • A new processor core design
  • Matrix Math Accelerator (MMA) ... for AI and machine learning workloads.
  • Improved memory bandwidth with DDR5 support.
  • Memory Inception ... shared memory across multiple systems.
