(#5079) - 1.8m I/O Tower<p>(Only available as REFURBISHED as of October 15, 2005) <p><p>The #5079 is a supported I/O expansion tower that can contain up to 90 disk units, has 28 PCI slots and has four removable media bays. <p><p>Each #5079 includes two bus adapters (one for each internal tower unit) to provide HSL interfaces(either copper (#9691) or optical (#9739). <p><p>Each #5079 is essentially two #5074 PCI Expansion Towers, with side covers and casters removed, placed in a 1.8M tower. Each #5079 counts as two #5074s towards the system model maximums. <p><p>The upper and lower enclosures (#5074s) in a #5079 are not connected internally by an HSL cable. If the #5079 is to be placed in an HSL loop (both upper and lower enclosure on same HSL loop), a #1460 3m HSL Cable is required to connect the upper and lower enclosures. If a #5079 is to be shared between two systems, one #0574 must be removed from the original ordering system and added to the sharing system, using an RPO(Record Purpose Only) change. <p><p>Each of the two tower units within a #5079 fully support 45 disk units (no #5101s need be ordered). <p><p>Dual line cord capability is available for the #5079 with feature #5106. With a #5106 installed, both tower units of a #5079 will have dual line cord capability.
