Hardware Management Console HMC Requirements for IBM Power 11 Servers
All IBM Power 11 servers require v11 Hardware Management Console HMC, which is supported on the IBM HMC 7063-CR2 HW appliance and the IBM vHMC SW appliance. The IBM Hardware Management Console HMC model 7063-CR1 does not support HMC v11 or management of IBM Power 11 servers. The IBM HMC is a Linux based hardware appliance used to configure and manage one or more IBM Power 11 servers, and performs the following functions: Power Server Hardware Management, Power Hypervisor & Virtualization Management, Service and Update Management, Monitoring, and enables integration for other IBM Power system solutions. The available IBM HMC product options include the HMC hardware appliance and a vHMC software appliance. Note: the IBM HMC 7063-CR1 HW appliance is not supported for Power 11 server management.
